In Memoriam: Donna Kauffman, bestselling novelist
Kensington Publishing mourns the loss of Donna Kauffman, who passed away April 9, 2020 from pancreatic cancer. The New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of over 70 novels, Donna also was an avid DIYer, baker, gardener, an environmental advocate, and a contributor to USAToday.com. She was a native of Washington D.C., but ultimately called the Blue Ridge Mountains home, a place where she constantly drew inspiration for her novels. She leaves behind two sons, hundreds of delightfully relatable characters, and legions of readers whose lives were touched by her humorous and heartwarming fiction. Her novels have been translated and published in 26 countries. Alicia Condon, who has been Donna’s editor for the past dozen years, reflects, “Donna had a special gift for telling tender, uplifting stories while offering a uniquely insightful glimpse at the human condition. She made a world where every character was important and where love always wins the day.”
